Restaries was born from a desire to create the kind of place people are always searching for — somewhere deeply calming, beautifully designed, and connected to nature without feeling overly polished or contrived. When the founders discovered Paradise Farm, they were immediately captivated. The property had immense soul, history, and raw beauty, even though it needed a lot of work. Their aim was to create more than just a place to stay; they wanted guests to properly exhale. Whether that meant long lunches, slow mornings, cold sea swims, fires, or animals wandering past the windows, the home stays were designed to feel private, restorative, and connected to the land.
Offering guests a chance to slow down and feel genuinely rested. Life is fast and noisy, and the home stays provide a softer pace, allowing visitors to reconnect — with themselves, their companions, and the outdoors. The experience is designed to be memorable in a sensory way: the colours and textures of the rooms, the smell of woodsmoke, fresh eggs in the morning, and the gentle sounds of animals nearby. It’s a version of luxury that feels warm and grounding rather than formal.

The property’s location and history shape every aspect of Restaries. Situated on a historic Suffolk farm with open land, wide skies, and a sense of stillness, the setting naturally influences the pace and feel of the stays. The founders never wanted to impose anything flashy or disconnected, instead letting the property guide them. The honesty of the old buildings, materials, and layout of the land informs how the spaces are restored and used, allowing guests to settle into the natural rhythm of the site.

The design ethos at Restaries is natural, quietly luxurious, and emotionally led. Spaces are layered, warm, and cocooning — beautiful yet lived-in, with soul and softness rather than perfection. Earthy tones, tactile materials, antique pieces, and imperfect finishes create interiors that feel restorative and welcoming. Inspiration comes from nature, the changing seasons, old farmhouses, European boutique hotels, quiet Mediterranean spaces, and English country homes that feel slightly undone. Materials such as linen, timber, stone, lime-wash, aged metal, and handmade ceramics reinforce this balance of rustic and refined. Subtle details, like our Ecru Rocco wall light quietly perched above a painting on the lime-wash walls, complete the spaces with understated charm.

The Rocco pendant was chosen for its sculptural presence that doesn’t overpower a room. It works especially well in the kitchen, providing a focal point that feels natural, relaxed, and functional. The pendant complements the earthy, muted palette, adding warmth and depth while sitting comfortably alongside vintage pieces and the island table. Its texture, shape, and gentle illumination enhance the intimate, calming mood of the interiors. A dimmer allows guests to adjust the light to suit their moment, whether for a quiet morning coffee or a relaxed evening gathering, reinforcing the cocooning atmosphere that defines Restaries.
